Education and Conferences:

Pain Management Lecture Series

The Pain Management Lecture Series is held weekly and it is based on the written curriculum with assigned reading pertaining to each topic. Most lecturers are faculty members from the Center for Pain Medicine, Neurology, Orthopedics and Psychiatry. Nationally known guest lecturers have also participated in this lecture series.

Journal Club

Journal Club is held monthly at the Center for Pain Medicine. The goal is to discuss articles pertaining to the field of pain management in a critical manner, concentrating on study design, methods and relevance.

Multidisciplinary Pain Conferences

Multidisciplinary Pain Conferences are held monthly at the center. Participants include faculty from the Center for Pain Medicine, the Medical Psychiatry division, the Department of Psychology/Behavior Medicine, residents and fellows. From time to time, other health care providers participating in the care of our patients will be invited to this conference. The goal of this conference is to discuss joint patients and develop comprehensive treatment plans.

Morbidity/Mortality Conferences

These meetings are held on an ongoing basis at the Center for Pain Medicine. Fellows and faculty are encouraged to present cases, discuss outcomes and strategies for improvement.

Anesthesiology Grand Rounds

The Pain Medicine Fellows are required to attend the weekly departmental Grand Round and Morbidity/Mortality Conference. The trainees are encouraged to present cases and/or topics of interest at this meeting.
